Certification Check

How to verify a provider against official sources and document your tracking setup.

Certification status can change, and using a certified provider does not make every implementation compliant.

What certification means

Google may require some third-party click tracking services to be certified, so that the way they handle destinations and parameters meets Google's requirements.

Why requirements exist

They help make sure the path from ad to page is understandable to users and reviewers.

Finding the official list

Search Google Ads Help for “certified click tracker list”. Use that page, not a third-party directory, as your source of truth.

Verifying a provider

Find the provider and the specific service on the official list, and read any conditions attached to it. Note the date you checked.

Vendor versus certified service

A software vendor may offer several products. Verify the exact entity and service you use, not just the brand name.

What certification does not cover

It does not guarantee approval, and it does not cover mistakes in your own configuration, including custom domains and parameters.

Custom domains and subdomains

These change your architecture and must be assessed against the current official conditions. See section F of the rules walkthrough.

Documenting your architecture

Keep a diagram of every domain and hop, the purpose of each, the parameters each reads or writes, who owns it, when you last tested it, and the provider's verified status with the date checked.

A review routine

  1. Identify the tracking provider.
  2. Verify the service against the official source.
  3. Map every redirect destination.
  4. Review how parameters are handled.
  5. Test the expected user journey.
  6. Document results and open issues.
  7. Re-check the official rules before deployment.

Common misunderstandings

Does a CNAME make me certified?

No.

Does a certified provider guarantee approval?

No. Your implementation still has to comply.
